password

When I need to do a restart, a Dell screen asks for a password. I don't have a password and don't want to use one.

How do I get rid of the password screen?

    @Raccppm

    This doesn't sound like the Dell Data Protection | Security Control splash screen based on the color blue (DDP | ST would be black). This sounds like Windows Hello, but I need to do a bit more research, could you let me know

    1) Is there any Dell branding on that blue screen

    2) What operating system are you using?

    Bios password is not the same as windows password.

    Local windows password is not the same as microsoft account password.

    The Dell password screen slows down my restarts by about 5 minutes at least. Since I don't have a password and don't want one, I would like to get rid of the screen that says Dell Data Protection/Security Tools.

    "Dell Data Protection/Security Tools Client" is under programs.  Uninstall this software.

    Encryption client and Security Tools on select Dell UEFI computers running Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 with qualified Opal Compliant SEDs.

    @Raccppm

     Sorry to hear about your frustrations. If you haven't setup a password yet, when it gets into Windows it should have a prompt to set up Dell Data Protection | Security Tools?

    The reason I ask is that you should ensure you are properly de-provisioning device, before uninstalling the Security Tools feature. Steps on the uninstall can be found at https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/04/sln286129/how-to-uninstall-dell-data-protection-security-tools?lang=en

    Let me know if you have any other questions.

    With the help of System Mechanic, I was able to uninstall both DDP Client Security Framework and DDP Security Tools.  I then tried a restart and got the same old password screen.  What next?

    @Raccppm To ensure we are talking about the same password screen, any chance you could take a photo with your phone and post the results? I don't want to give you incorrect steps for a resolution.

    I'm afraid that I don't have a phone.  The screen in question first shows an hour glass for a couple of minutes before asking for a password.
