Dell Server Bios information required
Hi,
Is there any info on dell server bioses anywhere? (and what they support)
I am trying to boot off virtual media using Avocent KVM, and they say the server bios must support boot from usb 2 composite. Any info?
It works fine on PE 1950, but not on newer models such as PE2950, PE 6850, PE860 etc. I have a host of other server types, and would rather this wasn't a trial and error exercise/waste of my time.

my mistake. It does work on the 2950 too. I think i missed it because i was looking for something else. Your comment makes sense (although my Avocent contact says he has it working on a PE850 now, and it didn't work for me on an 860! I think i'll double check.

I would expect that if it works on the 1950, it would work on the 2950 as well as they are the same generation system. I believe support was added in the 9th generation servers for booting from USB.
