    Hi Rembrond,

Did you removed the existing UDIMMs? The New DIMMs you put in the white slots and the black slots next to them? ftp://ftp.dell.com/Manuals/all-products/esuprt_ser_stor_net/esuprt_poweredge/poweredge-t310_Owner%27s%20Manual_en-us.pdf Page 110

Yes, that was one thing the user was clear on. I did put the 4 - new 8G Rdimms into the correct slots. Lots of pictures showing what slots to use. Think there may be an issue since the RDimms are 2Rx4 instead of 2Rx8. Not sure but would like a list from dell telling me what I can use...

You are correct X4 is not supported, so that is the problem.

I hope I can find 2Rx8 RDIMMS, want to run at the faster speed (1333 ). Won't be able to do that with quad rank DIMMS

Crucial offers several options that they guarantee to be compatible with your T310:

    Can I use dual-ranked 8G RDIMM's? 2RX8 ( 1333 or higher ). Would like to have 4 of these installed for a total of 32G in the server. Or, am I limited to just dual-ranked 4G RDIMM's?

You can use 8GB DIMMs. Though we only supported quad rank on 8GB. So dual rank has not been validated.
