Is there any way to set up simple e-mail notifications from OpenManage on a PE 1800? For example, if there's
any kind of alert (temperature, RAID redundancy degrading due to HD offline, etc.), I want to be notified through e-mail. "Broadcast" is a nifty theory, but is basically useless--I see little need to tell fifty workstation users on a subnet that there's some problem with the server.
Anyone gotten this working? Most of my servers are located inside various companies (I'm a contract IT consultant), and most are running SBS 2003 with Exchange and SMTP, so if I can just get OpenManage to send an SMTP message (even the 30k worms out there can do that!) things would be working much better for me. I hate having to spend a lot of time remotely logging in to 25 different servers at 25 different companies just to check on how things are going.
Wow. 0 replies in 3 days. I didn't think my question was that difficult... Hey, DELL.... Anyone home? Hello... (hears echo of own voice).
...Sorry to get sarcastic, but when I've just placed a bunch of $5500 servers into a bunch of different client facilities, I think someone over at Dell could afford to take a minute to answer a question. Just frustrated
