Manually install MDM on ScaleIO SVM

Hi.

My customer has a ScaleIO deployed on three physical linux servers (MDM1, MDM2, TB). They want now to change the secondary MDM to a VMware virtual machine. In the User Guide I see a procedure to change the MDM to another server (Changing an MDM server or changing an MDM IP address, page 236 of User Guide v1.32.1).

The question is: It's possible to manually install the new secondary MDM on the ScaleIO SVM? Or do they have to deploy a linux virtual machine and then install MDM on it and follow the procedure?

Thanks!

Deploying an SVM (ScaleIO VM) -> can be done like deploying any VM from OVA/OVF using vSphere client

Once SVM is deployed and IPs/network is properly set you can find all the ScaleIO SW PKGs under: /root/install/ and you can install (rpm -i) the relevant PKG (refer to the Linux manual installation section in the installation guide).
