ML6000 best implementation?

sorry for this lame post but I thought about this till I couldn't think straight any more. last week management throw an ml6010 server in my face to replace a pv124t we had... the new ml6010 has 2x scsi cables, 36 slots license, 2xlto3 drives and 35x400gb cartridges +1 cleaning tape also in the box 2xwin server backup exec remote agents CDs and license not the full thing. what i have already in the rack: pv775n +220s 3.6TB + backup exec 10d (with continues protection...etc) PE2590 sql server PE2580 application server PE2590 Oracle DB PE6650 (idle spare doing nothing) all win2003 servers. what i want to reach is a solution that backs up everything daily and do disaster recovery though the fastest transfer rate attainable. 1. is it worth splitting the scsi channels to two servers or should i use the two channels on one server. 2. do i need to upgrade to backup exec 11d. 3. how can i get the maximum transfer rate to the ml6000 if I'm doing backup over Ethernet through a main server attached to the library?

    1. is it worth splitting the scsi channels to two servers or should i use the two channels on one server. **I would leave them on a dual port card in one server... 2 drives will not kill a server. 2. do i need to upgrade to backup exec 11d. ** Its always a good idea to upgrade to the latest s/w. I think Symantec has released 12D already. You will need to verify with the HCL for Symantec if the ML6x is supported. 3. how can i get the maximum transfer rate to the ml6000 if I'm doing backup over Ethernet through a main server attached to the library? ** Upgrade your network to 10Gb :) You will be limited to the pipe you provide the data to flow through... do your backups overnight or during the slowest network period.
