microsoft set up

greetings,

i just ordered a new precision 3660 with windows 11 pro. i'm new to microsoft. can anyone direct me to a forum link or link to a video that will explain how to set up the microsoft acct and then switch to a local ms acct step by step?  for what it's worth i don't need the microsoft products, word, excel etc... nor do i need to sync to anything microsoft online. i'm really interested in de-coupling as much as possible from the MS realm. i use this system for photo and video editing only.

Google "Microsoft windows 11 setup" and see what you find.  Not to disappoint, but there's also Microsoft Community, as this is more of a Microsoft thing than a Dell thing.

    Hello,

when you do the initial win11 setup, you are asked for the microsoft account. To use a local one, at that point do this trick :

in the microsoft account field , insert : a@a.com , then click next

when asked for the password, put whatever you want  , and click sign in

A screen pops, up telling you that something went wrong. Click Next. The next screen then leads you on your path to a local account. Enter the name you want to use for the account.

And from that point you create your local account.
