Don't do it!  It does come with ink but if you can't get it to work then it doesn't matter any way.

habthatsme - I have had one for 1 1/2 months - love it and hate it!!!  It is the first all-in-one printer I've ever had so am enjoying its abilities - when it works!  Be prepared to buy lots of dell ink cartridges; my first black cartridge lasted just over 200 pages.  I'm now refilling my own but having some problems - see "astronomical price of...", page 8.  In reading forum postings about dell ink-jet printers you will see that lots of folks have had problems w/ various dell printers; I've experienced many of these problems and found NO useful help from dell support.  TechTv/Call for help or ?  just last week did a segment on all-in-one printers under $200 (dell a960, Cannon, HP); I suggest you look seriously at the Cannon @ around $150 as it is the smallest or the HP as each of these produced better prints than the dell.

I would also recommend not to do it.  Not because of the printer.  I have had no problems with the performance one I figured out how to use it.  My problem is the ink cartridges.  As one other reader said, she refilled them.  I have done that and it worked but has now quit working.  So apparently I am going to have to order one from Dell as they are made to only fit Dell cartridges.  DELL CHARGES TWICE AS MUCH AS FROM A STORE.  ALSO THEY DON'T LAST LONG.  I GOT A LITTLE OVER A HUNDRED COPIES FROM MY CARTRIDGE AND THEY WERE ONLY E-MAILS THAT I PRINTED.  I am very unhappy with this entire setup.  I am on disability and a very limited income.  I never dreamed I would be able to have my own computer but I kept saving a little at a time.  Then when Dell put the $499 deal on TV I felt there was my chance.  When I ordered I was never told that I would have to use their cartridges.  As they are so expensive for no longer than they last I now have a computer and a printer that I cannot print with as I can't afford the cartridges.  When I ordered I thought I would be able to refill them myself.  It worked for a while and now it doesn't.  I feel I have been taken advantage of by Dell. And trying to get any support from Dell has proved impossible.  I have had several friends ask me about what I thought of them ordering and I have very much discouraged them.  I don't want them to go through what I am.  I hope maybe in time I can save up for a printer that is compatible whatever that may be.  I am not knowledgable enough to know.

Agree with Sharpie10....look at another manufacturer for your printer.  This line of printers is plagued with problems and Dell won't do anything about it.  Look to someone with a better track record for first time quality, support and overall customer service.
