cover open

This has happened once before after changing ink cartridges.  Had to return one printer for same.  It always says cover open even thought the cover is closed.  Any suggestions? Thanks

Have you had any replies for your "cover open" problem?  I have owned mine for 2 years, i am the original owner, and just the other day i got the "cover open" message.  I tried unplugging and restarting, and even uninstalling and reinstalling my software.  Nothing worked, i still have the cover open message.

apparently not if your warranty is over. This is second time for me, ist time it was covered and they sent me a new printer but it seems its a glitch  in the dell printer and they dont stand behind their product.  Good Luck

I just had the same problem.  I purchased a Dell AIO 922 off of ebay from a place called "I sold-it" and they said that it was a working printer.  It powered on but went straight to the "cover open" on the display.  Was wondering if you purchased your printer from the same place on ebay?  Is this fixable or did I just get a DOA and waste my money??  Thanks for the help.

I bought my printer new. I can say that the problem seems to come after you change the ink cartridges. If the person selling the printer removed the cartridges prior to shipping he may not be aware of the problem. But, unfortunately from experiece there are also bad people who take advantage of others,so the prob may have been known, Re: fixing it. I threw mine away, didnt think it was worth fixing.  On my first one they sent me a new one since it was still under warranty. I wouldnt buy another Dell printer--ever!! and frankly i dont think i'd ever buy from e bay either. Too mant chances to lose your money on junk.  Good luck!
