The ink cartridges for the 946 are series 5. They can be purchased from Staples, Walmart or Dell's Website.

Since you listed two different printers, I researched both for you. The Dell's Website links also take you to the replacement spare parts, for each printer, in case you want to look over something else.

    Hi Rick

Thanks for infomation I was sure that series 5 were the ones - but dell.UK  sent and insist that series 8 are the ones, and was wondering if anyone else was having same problem.

Looks like you should contact Dell and have them replaced. Make sure you tell them the right printer number.

    Is it 964 or 946?

I love my 964. I have it connected to a wireless print adapter 3300.

    My Netgear WGR614v6 has

    Updated firmware

    Broadcast SSID

    WPA Security

    mixed b and g mode

    I use channel 11

And I don't have any problems with printing and scanning with 4 laptops, 2 Dells, 1 HP, 1 Compaq.

    Three XP and 1 Vista.

It's nice to have the printer in a certain area and be printing from the back patio. I only order my cartridges online from Dell, but I'm in the USA, so my links are a little different but the drivers and the firmware are the same.

    Hi Rick

    Definately a 964.

Spoke to dell they second set cartridges but they poduced same error as first ones. They send 3rd set but don't have much faith in that they will work.

    Thanks for replies

    Hi rick

Got to say the 964 great printer slightly better andfaster than the hp i used to have, always bought direct cartridges from dell and never had any problems, did try remanufactured once but had that many problems with bad printing, always showing low ink, so quickly returned to dell, just started with this problem with latest order of 10 days ago. Had to bring into work the lexmark I use at home till I can get problem solved.

Again thanks for help and advise

I have a dell's all in one 946 and its not oonnected to a computer. I just need it to print but it won'r. I tried cleaning the cartridges, aligning the cartridges, and the print test page. The cartridges, both are more than half in level. I think the year I bought it was 2007. I haven't used it for a long time and now that I'm trying to use it again, it's not printing. Can you help me? I would really appreciate it.

    inram102,

Can you copy a document under the glass? Black and white and color?

This printer cartridge is really amazing. It provides better print quality and easily affordable. It has high speed for printing. Thanks!
