Error registering H625cdw printer

Received my H625cdw printer today and set it up.  I then attempted to register it at dell.com/register and received the following error message:

"This service tag holding product cannot be processed for retail registration. Please click here for transfer of ownership."

Huh?  Has someone else previously registered my supposedly new printer?  Any help, suggestions or explanations will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, --Tony

    tony567,

Did you purchase the printer directly from Dell or a retailer? If you purchased from a retailer you will need to fill out the transfer warranty information to be able to get the warranty from Dell.

My printer was "purchased from Amazon Services, Inc."  Does that mean Amazon or is it a way of saying "some other vendor but Amazon was involved?"

I purchased it from Amazon (Amazon itself, not a marketplace vendor). The Ownership Transfer and Retail Registration Guide seems to indicate I should just be able to register it directly, but I had to fill out the ownership transfer form.  This involved calls to both Dell and Amazon customer service to get it right--confirming Amazon was the seller, what to put as their name on the form ("Amazon.com Services, Inc" was not possible to enter because your form does not allow periods or commas in the name), what the required zipcode was, etc.  I am now waiting for confirmation of the transfer of ownership to me from Amazon.  This is all a little off-putting.
