I have a Dell Photo 944 printer that isn't functioning. The light indicates it is on, however, the LCD panel doesn't display. When I open it (as if I were changing a cartridge) there is no movement. There is obvious power to the printer but nothing works. It is showing as "off line" when I go into the printers/hardware on the control panel. I went through all of the steps that the online support asked me to but nothing. It was working fine about 2 weeks ago and now nothing. It won't even work when we put in a digital camera card to look at photos. Can anyone advise?
Make sure to remove all SD & photo cards. Unplug the printer from the wall. Remove the power brick from the printer. Wait 60 seconds and insert the power brick. Now plug the printer back in the wall. What do you get now?
I get nothing. I am not a big techie so I'll do my best to describe what you asked for. I have Windows XP and the printer is connected through a USB to the hard drive. Is that what you needed?
You tried unplugging the printer from the wall. Then follow the power cord to the printer and you'll see s big black power box that's the shape on a brick. Please remove this from the printer for 30 seconds and then plug it back in then plug the power cord back in the wall.
Another option to try...
Power off the printer Open the front cover Press and HOLD both the Cancel and Continue buttons Continue to hold the buttons and power the printer on. Continue to hold the buttons until all light cycling activity has stopped. After the lights have stopped cycling (could take up to 30 seconds), release the buttons. Close the front cover to complete the Factory Default reset process.
