I am trying to get this printer to function properly for my mother-in-law. It's always had issues where it would need to be reconnected constantly, so I tried to rectify that by uninstalling it and reinstalling it. However, I am unable to reinstall it because once I get to the screen asking about whether the color is green, orange, or off. I select orange and it just...flinches and doesn't do anything. If I click that its off, it tells me to turn it on. If I click green it tries to find the printer but of course it can't, because the printer is orange. I tried calling tech support but all they told me was that the warranty is expired...I don't want a new printer, I want this one to function properly! Please help!

That is what I got when I followed the instructions. The PC is a 64-bit Dell, running on Windows 8. It uses McAfee Virus Software, I currently have the Firewall disabled.
Can you run Network Interface on your Mother-In-Laws computer and post that information back here. It seems there is a problem with the printer communicating.
Make and model of her computer and operating system. 32-bit or 64-bit?
Power off your ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any) for 30 seconds. Then power on the ISP modem/router. Wait 15 seconds, then power on the wireless router(if any)
OK this is what it says now, I am connected both hardline and wirelessly to my network with my desktop, the printer is still orange, but in the setup all that happens when I click that its orange is the setup box flickers each time I click orange. When I click green it moves on to find the printer, which it cannot, and when I click dark it tells me to turn it on.
After making some progress, I now got the light to be green, and it will print, only thing that doesn't work now is whenever I hit scan it says "cannot download scan applications list from computer". At least now I can use it for printing...ugh. Anyone have any pointers?
With the computer online, insert the printer disk, choose new installation, network and follow the instructions. It should prompt you to connect the usb cable, prompt for your network and password, then follow the instructions. When you disconnect the printer, the light should be green. I use Eco-Mode and double-sided printing on my Dell V715w Printer.
