reset data file backup

Is there a way to delete the Data Backup file list?  My backup files in the PROFILE1 directory were deleted; I would like to start from scratch and delete the history of the Data Backups. Thanks.

Same issue. After some investigation: it would appear that the backup profile data is stored in the Profiles1.xml file in your Program Data\softthinks\Profiles folder (which is likely to be on your c:\ drive). This file contains a list of folders\libraries to be backed up and your destination folder. The actual database of files which have been backed up appears to be stored in the DMDB.db file in the Program Data\softthinks folder. (But there is also a copy of DMDB.db in a hidden system folder in C:\System Recovery. You will need to take ownership of this folder to delete the file).

Probably the most sensible course of action to start from scratch would be to un-install Backup and Recovery, delete the entire softthinks folder, and possibly delete the DMDB.db file in the System Recovery folder. Then you can reinstall Backup and Recovery (after downloading it from the Dell site), and start with a clean sheet. If you leave leftovers in the softthinks folder they will continue to point Backup and Recovery to your previous non-existent file backup.
