I have a remote for a DELL 2400mp projector that I purchased as a used item.  The remote for it (TSFM-IR01) backing is very sticky.  I decided to purchase a remote that was listed as a new remote for it but when I got that remote, the backing on it is even more sticky that the first remote.

Why are these that sticky/tacky and is there any way to remove the stickiness from the rubber backing on the remote.
