I am using DigitalMedia v7 Plus / MyDVD by Roxio, bundled on my XPS 400 Dell desktop:

I use DigitalMedia v7 / MyDVD to back up my files on dvd.

I have used it without incident since I purchased my computer 2.5 years ago.

Recently, this is the problem that is occurring:

I drag and drop a folder of files into the "direct to disc" option.

The files are copied without incident.

Then I click on "make compatible".

My computer crashes.

I get a blue screen with the following error message:

"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

If this is the first time you’ve seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow these steps:

Check t be sure you adequate disk space. If a driver is identified in the Stop message, disable the drive or check with the manufacturer for drive updates. Try changing video adapters.

Check with your hardware vendor for any BIOS updates. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, press F8 to select Advanced startup options, and then select Safe Mode.

I have checked my drivers.

All drivers appear to working properly.

I have done a driver reset and a system restore.

I have download and installed PatchGdiPlus from Sonic, and the pxengine2_08_40d from Sonic.

The problem persists.

I would try to do a clean uninstall of DigitalMedia v7 / MyDVD, and reinstall from disc, but I do not understand how to do it correctly, as MyDVD is the only program that shows up in the list of programs in the Windows Add/Remove Programs tool.

DigitalMedia v7 Plus does not appear.

Please advise.
