DLA media failure when attempting CD format
The last 3 CD's I tried to format with DLA have ended up coasters because of a media failure/disc may be damaged. These are brand new CD-RW's. Any idea what could be causing this or how I go about finding out? Does it sound like the drive itself is damaged? CD/DVD's play fine and I havent had any installation problems off a disc. Thanks for any help.

OK, will do. Thanks for the advice. How do I go about disabling DLA? Do I have to uninstall Sonic first?485

Hi Zest,
Currently John is off-line.
Click on the CD/RW link in my post and scroll to Section 13-0, article 12, this will disable DLA and no you do not have uninstall it first..

Thanks for the help, Predator. But I seem to be having a problem. When I untick the tab for enabling DLA and reboot I still have DLA enabled for some reason. It wont turn off. Perhaps theres a conflict of some sort that keeps enabling it? Should I just uninstall Sonic?485

Uncheck DLA, then uninstall the Sonic DLA program. This is separate from the regular Sonic burning program.

If you read through this forum, you will find out that very few experienced users use DLA at all. The convenience of "drag 'n drop" or saving from applications is more than offset by the headaches it can create. My suggestion would be to turn off or uninstall DLA, and just use your Sonic program to create multi-session data CD-RWs. Alternatively, the Windows CD-writing wizard is a pretty convenient method for putting data onto CD-RWs.
