Trying to figure out why I cannot copy a DVD. I have a Dimension 3000 with
Single Drive: 48x CD-RW / DVD-ROM Combo Drive. Does this mean I can burn CD's but NOT DVD's? I guess when I purchased I thought "Combo Drive meant I would be able to do both?
Your 3000 series will support two IDE devices on the IDE channel and you have two 5.25" bays. So you can either add it if you have the space or put the DVD/CD/RW Combo drive in your Gateway, your choice my friend.
Best Regards

The three we see the most recommended from our Regulars include the Plextor, Pioneer and NEC (Retail) drives. On-line, jump over to New Egg Remember, get a DVD+/-R/RW drive, one that supposes writing to both formats.

Unfortunately you are correct, your drive will read DVD`s but cannot burn them.
