"primary master hard disk S.M.A.R.T status bad S.M.A.R.T error detected. the IDE hard disk drive is operating outside of normal specifications. it is advisable to immadately back up your files and replace your hard disk. The PC only had one year warrenty so I am looking for a fix to this problem. And help at all will be nice.

No need for further testing - the drive is failing. Back it up at once, and replace it.

    Hi, u can try this
Turn your computer off, when u turn it on, when u see the blue dell logo, start tapping F12, Boot Device menu will apear, select hard drivediagnostics or IDE drive diagnostics, the diags will run for 5 min, after it finishes, read the whole thing, IDE Diagnostics running, please wait
    PrimaryDrive 0: (Drive Model) - Pass:smileyhappy:
               Drive 1: No IDE Device
    Secondary
Drive 0: (CD-ROM Model) - Diagnostics not supported
    Drive 1: No IDE Device

    Test complete, Press to reboot
Drive 0 is your Hard Drive
Pass or Fail...??  If it fails u need a new HDD
