I was able to backup my Quicken file on my old HP PC. I would just put the cd in the drive and then within Quicken go to File-backup. The file would overwrite the old file on the CD with no problem. I then recently purchased a Dell Dimension E521 with both a DVD Rom and a DVD burner. I put a CD in the burner and tried to backup my quicken file. I get an error message that "cannot write to drive E(this is the burner). File not backed up. I know the burner works because I am able to back up files thru a program like Roxio. I do not know why I can not backup my Quicken file the way I did on my HP PC. Does anyone have any Ideas.
