ITA 7 rocks

Thanks to 15 software eingineers and 2 years, IT Assistant has been totally redone from scratch.  IT Assistant 7 will be released March 28, 2005.

This is a big deal.

Hi jcullley6. Have you got any more information on ITA7, other than that it rocks? I'm planning an ITA rollout this next month, but I am able to postpone if the new version is worth waiting for. Are there any docs available on new features, etc?

    Thanks

    John

John:  ITA 7 is still in it's testing phase and I am not permitted to let any docs out until it goes 'gold' but I can say this:

    1.  It is web based so you can access it from any brower. (IIS is not required)

    2.  You will be able to schedule firmware updates.

    3.  Email alerts no longer require IIS.

    4.  Built-in Troubleshooting tools.

    5.  The database schema has been completly redesigned

    Look for it around 3/28/05

Hope this info has been useful!

Support call to Dell last week:

ITA 7 will be released Monday, March 28th.

Support call to Dell this morning:

ITA 7 is on "Floating Release" and is still being tested by the OpenManage group. Estimated release is now mid-April, but could be before, could be after.

Thanks, James, I'm pulling it down now.

I've been awaiting this one for a couple of months.

You wouldn't happen to be the James C that was travelling the US doing OMSA training a few months back? Stopped in St. Louis?
