Server Management on ESXi VM
I have an instance of Win 2008 R2 guest O/S running on a vmware ESXi4.1 host. IS there any way that I can run the Dell server manage software on the guest O/S? I'm specifically interested in monitoring the RAID array for failures, and the ability to repair these within the O/S. If I cannot install the openmanage software, is there another product that I can use to manage the system storage?

Dell offers OpenManage for ESXi. I'd suggest to install this. ESXi doesn't allow for the full GUI though, so you install the Windows OMSA on a Windows box (e.g. a VM), and at the web page you specify the ESXi host for the "server" to look at with OpenManage.
