Hi all, I am new to VVOLs and recently acquired a Unity 300F which I have connected to my vCenter as a VVOL. I am used to storing my disk images (for installing new VMs) on my datastores but can't do the same in the VVOL datastore. As soon as I try to copy the image from an existing datastore or upload directly, it creates a 4GB file on the VVOL and when the upload reaches that limit it errors out.
Is there no way to store disk images on VVOL Datastore?
When I try to login the the support site I receive the following error, thus preventing me from creating the SR:
"We can't log you in. Check for an invalid assertion in the SAML Assertion Validator (available in Single Sign-On Settings) or check the login history for failed logins."
For some reason, I also can't send you private messages, I only get a red bar on the bottom of my screen when I click on "Send", but no error is show.
Thanks for the tip, but nope. I'm actually on a Mac, tried with Safari and Chrome, then tried with a PC with Chrome. It won't even copy the images from one datastore to the other.
Uploading a file using the datastore browser fails when the file is larger than 4GB on Internet Explorer When you upload a file larger than 4GB using the datastore browser on Internet Explorer, your receive the error:
Failed to transfer data to URL.
Internet Explorer does not support files larger than 4GB.
Workaround: Use the Chrome or Firefox browser to upload files from the datastore browser.

Hi manuelalvarez
I am doing some tests in the lab here and I am seeing similar issues.
Could you get an SR going with support for this please?
Once you have the SR number, could you send me a private message with the SR number?
You can even add the link to this thread to the SR notes so that support knows the context.
Once I have the SR number, I will take the SR to Engineering/Dev.
Thanks
