I bought this Dell, which came with a 90-day subscription to McAfee. I didn't sign on to continue my subscription because I have Norton's Corporate anti-virus software installed. I heard that running 2 different programs is bad, so I tried to disable McAfee. However, it appears to have re-enabled itself. It continually provides pop-up messages indicating that it found a virus or trojan. So here are my questions:

1) Is it really bad to have Norton's Corporate software installed but also have this McAfee thing active? (and why is McAfee still active if my 90-day subscription should have run out by now?)

2) Should I uninstall McAfee to completely remove it from the system, or should the disable function take care of it?

3) Does Norton automatically pick up the same stuff as McAfee (as opposed to having to manually run a scan)? It worries me a little when McAfee pop-up messages appear so frequently about finding a virus and I've never seen anything like that with Norton.

4) If I get rid of McAfee, is there still firewall protection -- either through Windows XP or through Norton? Any other vulnerabilities that I'll expose if I remove McAfee?
