unknown application in windows

I have been fighting the battle to debug my computer of adware and spyware.  I have an application that is located in my Windows/system32 file called lrhxqdix. It does not come up on the spyware scans nor on my anti virus program scans, however, my firewall program alerts that it is attempting to connect with the internet periodically.  I also still suffer from unwanted adware pop ups and some browser  redirect issues.  Is the lrhxqdix a valid application or is this the root of some of my problems and do I need to delete the application in the safe mode?

12 ghosts (strange name) is a great little pop-up blocker and is free.

But, in response to your main question, I'd suggest you go to this link     http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=si_virus&message.id=28069&jump=true  to get info on how to download Hijack This and post a log in the Hijack This forum.  Just be sure to follow the instruction about creating the HJT folder and be sure that it's NOT in a Temp. folder. :-)

After you post, an expert will be happy to help, just be patient.  They are very busy, but as Steve says, they are peddling as fast as they safely can. ;-)

    Hope this helps.
