Thank you for the response. I am aware of that. i see that in PP 5.3 release notes. . But just want to make sure that PP 5.5 also wont support SWAP and boot disk.
Now am looking for a solution, How can i proceed , if I have SWAP space in EMc disk.
remove the swap from EMC disk, Migrate all disk using PPME reconfigure swap on new EMC drives.
Do you have any better solution than the above. . I am sure if i remove swap space, then it may hit performance..(incase if the swap space utilisation is high.
Karl, thanks for the suggestion. I guess that would be the best option.. Hope we don't feel any performance hit after deactivate the SWAP space on source as we already added the new SWAP from destination array..
same restriction applies to PPME 5.5. You will need to rely on array based tools and schedule downtime. Shutdown the host and either use SanCopy to push to Symm or Open Replicator to pull from Clariion. If you have SanCopy enabler that would be my choice.
