Remote Management
Ok, so I'm a DBA and I don't know a lot about SANs. We have a new SAN and I usually look at stats through powerpath. However, that requires me to TS into the server and run powerpath locally.
Is there a way to get info like deviceID remotely through powershell or through a mgmt pack of some kind so I can script these things and just pass in a couple params? I'd like to avoid the slow method of getting onto the console just to get a deviceID.

Thanks, though I was hoping for a more native solution from EMC. So what exe would I run with psexec? Because powerpath is an msc and I need to be able to script this as fully as possible.

Thanks, I see what that command does, but the output is horrendous. It would require me to use regex to cycle through all the disks and parse out the deviceIDs and then I would still have to find a way to map it to a specific drive letter or mountpoint. Isn't there a better way? I find it hard to believe that EMC would have to rely on psexec to script the mgmt of large environments.

well I don't necessarily need homegrown, but free would be nice.

Y, but I've seen blog posts about some EMC powershell cmdlets but I can't seem to find a download for them. Do they just not exist anymore?
