Hi all,

I have a problem that I cannot seem to get to the bottom of. I'm not sure if it's configuration, human error (most likely) or simply a lack of understanding.

I have two VNXe 3100s (dual controller) configured with the basics - iSCSI and twin ethernet ports (eth2 and eth3). The units have the remote support pack and because of the lack of NIC ports, it's an iSCSI solution that I need to replicate.

So far I've had few problems incorporating iSCSI with ESXi 4 and 5, but the Replication Manager setup just confounds me. There also doesn't appear to be much in the way of documentation covering this setup (Windows is fine, but not VMware).

The attached pic shows the error I'm getting, but am I even doing this right?

I only have one RM VM running. It doesn't have the solution manager installed (it did, but that made no difference).

I have various types of iSCSI storage presented (with and without protection).

I have replication storage configured within the two VNXe controllers (VMware and Generic).

My understanding is that with ESXi (and vCenter) I can just add the single RM host (local box with vCenter ticked) and the replication setup would do the rest.. but alas, this error is all I can ever get.

Do I need to present the VMware VMFS iSCSI storage to the RM box as read only? I can't see why I would but it's the one thing I've not (and can't really) tried.
