I downloaded the vVNX VVOL compliance and installed it but it doesn't work ..... after boot the VVNX VM created from OVF 3.1.4 doesn't take the static ip informed during the installation
Vincent: The IPs for GUI management? Did you follow the instructions in the vVNX installation guide? There are separate instructions documented for using svc_initial_config to set static IPs for both the ESXi server or vCenter for management.
OK .... after 2 reboot and a very long time, this new vVNX get my configured static ip for management .... BUT I have another problem/question ...... as informed in the vVNX community page for this new vVNX vVOL Tech preview version, I'm gone to http://www.emc.com/auth/elmeval.htm to get from my vVNX UUID the license xml file. Is it normal that this license enables only the vVol part of the vVNX and not NFS/CIFS features like the previous vVNX ?
Correct. For the VVOL Tech Preview version only VVOLs and functionality required to use it is enabled purposefully. If you need other vVNX functionality you need to deploy the vVNX Community Edition separately. A version of vVNX supporting both will be available at a later date.
