Alienware Aurora R4 Windows 8 Upgrade Problem.
I have a Alienware Aurora R4 and im trying to upgrade to windows 8 from windows 7. I bought windows 8 online and have downloaded it to my pc. Once I install it and it restarts it hangs at a black screen with the windows 8 logo spinning around. Ive waited for it to do something and nothing happened. Ive been researching online and It might be something with secure boot?. Also I am running Bios version A05 if that helps. I am not in a raid cofig it is set to AHCI.

Hi iHaVoKK559,
Please share if you have purchased Windows 8 upgrade version or a complete copy of Windows 8 operating system. If it is a complete copy that you have purchased, then you will need to perform clean installation of Windows. If you have purchased Windows 8 upgrade and performed it, try below listed steps and check if it helps:
Note: Do not turn off power before update is complete. Connect your computer any surge protector (if available) to avoid any unexpected shut down. Also, disconnect all the external peripherals before updating the BIOS. All the programs should be closed and documents saved.
Hope this helps. Please reply if you have any questions.
