All Programs List

In moving programs around in my All Programs list I accidentially moved one "off the page." Is there a way I can get it back? Thanks.

    bobh621,

I'm not sure what "off the page" means but all the items in the All Programs listing are shortcuts to the executable file of the program itself. To place (or replace) an item in the All Programs list create a shortcut to that file, copy the shortcut, then paste it into the desired location in C:\Documents and Settings\ Account\Start Menu\Programs. ( Account can be either your personal account or the All Users account.)

Thanks for the response, Denny. Off the page = it just vanished from the All Programs list.  I followed your instructions and it put the program back in the Quick Start list but not in the regular All Programs list, and I can put an icon on the desktop so I can easily access the program. No big deal but is there a way to add it back into the normal All Programs list? I am still working my way around in Win XP and just like to know what the heck I am doing.

I believe you can drag it into "All Programs".

you can restore a shortcut to a program in the "all programs" list the way that denny said: open "my computer"; open "c:"; open the "documents and settings" folder; open the folder there for your personal account (or you could do it in "all users"); open "start menu"; open "programs"; then paste the shortcut there.. then the shortcut will appear in your list of start/all programs.. to create a shortcut, find the " executable" for the program, usually within the program's folder in c/program files, rightclick, and select "create shortcut"..

How do I change the "All Programs" list from a single column to multiple columns in Win XP Professional?  I had the multiple column option set but somehow it got reset, and I can't find the  option check box to put it back.  The single column view works with scrolling, but I prefer the multiple column view since it shows all programs on the same view.
