Deep Sleep?

If I leave my Dell Dimension E521 in a non-logged in state and the machine goes to sleep,
it will not wake up again.   I have to hold down the power button and re-boot.
Running Vista Home Premium.
Is there a solution short of user login?

Do you wake it by briefly pressing the power button? That's the only way to wake up a vista computer in Sleep or Hybrid Sleep/Hibernation.

Not true, a keyboard, mouse or network card can "Wake" a Vista PC, but it must be enabled in power management for each device, in device manager.

As you can see there are many, many sleep issues, some so elusive that turning sleep Off is the only resolution.

    Thanks for the link.
It is a very long list with most items about problems with programs or devices,
I have not had any problems returning to a user window,
only from the initial window showing my users.
I will look through the list again to see if there is something for my case.

The Dimensions is a desktop machine.  It does not have a Hibernation mode.
The only  Power Switch Options are "Shut Down" or "Sleep"
Neither are what I want when trying to get it to wake up; however,
maybe  a gracefully "Shut Down" is better that a hard  power off.
