Dell Software

I just recieved my Dimension 2400. It has 512 MB Ram, 80 GIG hard drive, Celeron 2.4. I got my CD-RW installed and proceeded to reinstall Windows XP to get rid of all the Dell stuff. I didn't know that by doing that I would lose access to the symantec full system restore. Is there any way I can get it back ? It is still on the hard drive. I deleted and reformated C drive and reinstalled and the Dell stuff is still there listed as F: but I can"t get at it .

    hal124,

No, once you reinstall XP the PC Restore program is gone for good.

Thanks for the help Denny. The only other thing I noticed is that I didn't get a Dell resource CD with the drivers on it. Is Dell not shipping the the resource CD anymore?

    hal124,

No, Dell has stopped shipping the Resource CD. Apparently the contents which would have been on that CD are now in a C:\Drivers file on the hard disk from which they can be copied to CD (in effect creating your own Resource CD).

Thanks again for all your help. I didn't know about the file on the hard disk so I ended up downloading all the files from Dell Support. I guess I got them all because the computer is working OK.
