I hope that someone will be able to help me with this situation.  Here it is, two days ago i deleted an ndw.exe trojan that was found in my windows folders and then conducted a system restore to an ealier point in time, due to consistent errors still occurring on my PC.  And, after having done so, realized that my PC was dragging and investigated my PC files to try to resolve the problem and noticed that there have been alot of files .dll, .exe, .ini, .abdand others and varoius folders with this at the end of the duplicated file name "(2)", ie.wininit(2).ini, cpiqdoc5(2).dll.  Consequently, I have updated my virus definitions and conducted a virus scan using Norton Anti-Virus 2004, but nothing has been detected. And, so far there have been 16,000 duplicated files found using the search option through the Windows XP start menu option.

Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this or how this problem can be successfully remedied?
