Elminating DOS Screen

After reinstalling XP, now when  I turn on the computer,  the Dell Logo screen appears briefly, then a DOS screen appears, then Windows XP Logo screen appears, and proceeds  normally.  How can I eliminate the annoying DOS Screen and have the system boot up normally like it use to.  Thanks

Thank you for your fast reply.  I didn't find a Bat file in C:/  The answer maybe right in
front of me.  I'll explain, at the bottom of the DOS screen that appears at Start Up
says  "For Troubleshooting & Advance Start Up Options press F8.
The F8 screen has many options; It says; Please select an Option:
Safe Mode, (3 safe mode options); Enable Boot logging, enable VGA Mode
Last know good configeration(your most recent setting that worked)
Directory Services Restore mode (Windows  domain controolers only)
    Debugging mode
Disable automatice restart on system failure
Start Windows Normally (which didn't work)
    Reboot
Use the up & down keys to move the highlight to your choice.
I don't feel knowlegable enough to make a selection (that I may reget anyway)
Will any of these choices remove the DOS screen, I've been refering to?
    Thanks again
