Game Might & Magic VI

This old game (M&M6) will not play on my new Dimension XPS Gen 4.  I have tried to change
Compatibility properties on the program but still does not start. Just comes up with, send error report to microsoft.

Does anyone have a solution?    3do seems to be out of buisness..

Thanks Paulsr_

Many older games will not run under Windows XP, even if you try a compatibility mode.  The problems are, (1) the way XP assigns memory (2) There is no Autoexec.bat to define the DOS sound parameters and some games require the DOS parameters (are actually DOS games even tho they run under older Windows OS') (3) some have problems with the video.

I had to dump games such as Dukenukem 3D, Doom II, etc, just not XP compatible.

Those reports, in most cases and especially since the software vendor is no longer in existance, will do you no good.  Microsoft only responds if they or if a software vendor has a fix.  Microsoft will not fix an old out of publication game that was put out by another vendor.

Go back and read my comment.  "Not all older programs are Windows XP compatible".
