How current are your updates?  Just exactly what will not open?

i have roadrunner  when i hit the internet exploer to bring it up   most of the words come up but the pitcures will not open  and most of  top part of pages wont show at all   i can still use it but it wont show many pics or nuthing at all

yes i think it is   how do i tell that it is   i was told there might be a problem with my active x
