ISP Install Roadblock

I've recently installed Windows XP (Dell Dimension e510) and I'm attempting to install my high speed ISP from Comacast.  I have my ethernet plugged in correctly on both ends, but when I get to that step it tells me there is no network adapter.  How do I get it installed or get it to be recognized?

Thanks,

You need to install your "Drivers"

    http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/document?c=us&docid=1A0C0937D62A8739E0401E0A55174744&journalid=%204F1F82483DC811DBAE564F9328EE04A4&l=en&s=gen

You may have received a driver CD from dell with your order, you can use that to install them, but be sure to install them in the correct order given in the link above or problems will result.

Yes, you appear to have driver issues..

I have a similar scenario here; a E-510 and Comcast as my broadband. Do you rent their modem ?  I ask only because I rented theirs for over 5 years, but I finally went out and bought my own. I bought a Motorola Surfboard cable modem down at WalMart in my hometown.

I don't know a heck of a lot about measuring speeds, but I noticed a huge, huge difference with a new modem. And I thought my speeds were o.k. for the last 5 years... but now I realize how much better off I am with a new modem. 31123 kbps is good, however I guess my upload speeds are marginal. But I don't upload stuff anyways so I'm not concerned there...

Just thought I'd mention this to you in case it can help some..  Good luck..
