I have been trying to help a friend with a message that comes out on their screen at boot and again every hour or so.

 

The Message is

 

" Your Temporary Key has expired. If you believe this message is in error, please contact the program's author. "

 

It makes no reference to an application. Above is the entire message.

 

I tried checking all running processes and googling for all that I wasn't sure what they were. I thought I had it with a scanner software that displayed the message and had an entry in the startup registry. I removed it but the message persists.

 

I tried the whole message in Google and found some reference to validation keys and entering a cntl/t would bring up a way to switch it off. No such luck.

 

Hoping one of you have solved this problem in the past and can point me to a possible solution.
