Has anyone run across this? I recently upgraded to Windows XP Pro on my Dimension 8100. Full clean install, NTFS format, complete current Windows Update to SP1 and all the latest fixes/patches from Microsoft (including Office 2000). Brand-new Norton Anti-Virus 2003, hardware firewall in stealth mode, AdAware, SpyBot, concertina wire, armed guards, a moat full of crocodiles and a drawbridge. I have no idea where this came from, and have been unable to find references to it on the web. I did take a peek inside with Notepad and it appears to contain my Outlook Express 6 address book. Anyone have an idea why this file with this interesting name would appear out of the blue on my desktop? Explanations, speculation, conjecture and consipracy theory all welcomed.
All this is , like the previous post stated, is a bug in Outlook Express. Actually, its a bug in one of the Xp updates. It shows up whenever a new contact is added to your address book. It's harmless and M$ has ignored it so far. They're probably not going to do anything about it, with Longhorn (or whatever the name is now) being close to it's release.
