NotifyAlert.exe problem

When my system starts up and loads this message appears:

Fatal Execution Engine Error (0x7927baca)

I click ok and this message appears:

NotifyAlert.exe Common Language Runtime Debugging Services

Application has generated an exception that could not be handled

Process id=0x15c(348), Thread id=0x3bc(956)

What can I do to fix this?  I have XP and this has been happening for the last couple of days.  I also have a Dell Dimension 2400 series.

    cher250,

NotifyAlert.exe is associated with Dell Support. You can read the instructions for reinstalling Dell Support here in an incredibly long thread dealing with that error.

A more direct solution is probably to simply uninstall Dell Support in Add/Remove Programs.

I went and tried to uninstall the program and got this message:

Error 1722 There is a problem with this Windows Installer package.  A program run as part of the set up did not

finish as expected.  Contact your support personnel or package vendor.

    Now What?

I finally fixed the problem so that message doesn't show up anymore.  First I uninstalled the Microsoft Net 1 Framework, then I uninstalled Dell Solution, then finally was able to uninstall Dell Support.  It works fine now and that error message doesn't show anymore.  Maybe this will help someone else too.

    cher250,

Glad it's fixed, and thanks for the feedback on the procedure you used to remove Dell Support.

I am having the same problem and Cher250's solution seems the most appropriate.  Do you have to reinstall Microsoft Net 1 Framework, Dell Solution, and Dell Support after uninstalling?

    TIA.
