Perfect Installation

I have patiently waited for the Vista Upgrade for the new Dell I purchased in December , but got tired of waiting and wanted to go ahead and get started and try and head off any future problems -- I purchased Vista Home Premium and did a Full Clean Install using a dual boot - keeping XP -- the install went perfect - no one single problem. I have successfully dual boot to Vista and XP - both are perfect. I haven't tested ANY programs - but will do that on a very gradual basis. Just for information: My Dell is: Dimension 9200 Core 2 Duo 2 gigs of RAM 2 x 250 western digital internal hard drives Hope everyone has the good luck I've had. Take care - probably won't be hanging around here as much now !

One thing to keep in mind when you are dual booting... When you load up XP all your Vista system restore points get deleted.

Yep - I read about that - no problem for now - I've only loaded the OS - and will gradually install programs - files - etc.... once I get everything in good shape with Vista - I'll dump XP - but that's later Tom

I've been reading and keeping an eye on all the posts & threads here.....  I guess there's still problems with drivers from Creative Labs sound cards.  Possibly some by Roxio too...  Ah, the joys of a new operating system:smileywink:
