Portrait vs Landscape Default Problem

Somehow my windows defaults got changed and everything I print defaults to landscape instead of portrait.  I tried changing it to portrait in page setup and it will print like I want it to, however, if I print something new later it defaults back to landscape and I am forced to go back into page setup everytime I print something.  This is very aggravating.  Please help.  Thank you.

Is this a problem with Word or with all software on your PC? If it's with Word, do a file search for normal.dot (make sure to include hidden and system files). Delete all copies of normal.dot. The next time Word starts it will create a new normal.dot template and things should be ok.

If it happens with all software, open Printers and Fax control panel and make sure that the printer properties are set to portrait.

pwjames is correct. Whatever printer parameters are set through the control panel applet will apply to all programs.

    Joe,

I had the same problem in IE which I just posted on here a few days ago. I would change it in both the printer preferences and the print setup and it would stay until I exited from IE , then revert to landscape. The only way I could find to fix it was to go to control panel, then printers and other hardware,  view printers, found my printer, right clicked on my printer and then deleted it. When I reinstalled it, it went back to defaulting to portrait.
