I just fresh reinstall win XP home on my Dimension 8200. For some reason, I cannot create quick launch toolbar. When I get into Taskbar properties, check "show quick launch" box and check apply that box keep reset after I get out. If I right click on the taskbar, and select quick launch, I get error: "cannot create tool bar". Anyone have any idea how to fix this problem othet than reinstall window again.
You could try running SFC , which checks protected System Files for corruption & if found replaces them from reinstall..XP CD .
If it prompts for XP CD , hold Shift key while inserting XP CD to stop Auto play.
Use Start > Run & type
sfc /scannow (space after sfc)
------------------
If that doesn't fix problem you could try a Windows Repair from boot of XP CD.
Repair leaves installed Programs & Data intact but you will have to download the Windows Updates again.
Remember to Enable XP Firewall before going on line to protect from the Blaster Worm virus.
Download Blaster Worm patch from
www.microsoft.com
