can anyone advise as to steps as to how to wipe out my hard drive. I have all files backed up and will reinstall desired programs but have a # of issues that I feel taking this drastic step will resolve...thx

Use XP CD & delete existing partition during XP install.Use this link for Clean Install of XP , if you click on Pictures they Expand for easy view http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/cleanxpinstall.html
or use this link & 1st Delete existing partition at step 5 for Clean instalhttp://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxp_sg_clean.asp
or this link & select XP Home or PRO with large pictureshttp://www.windowsreinstall.com/
