reinstalling...

Right now, I have a Dimension 8300 with winXP pro. and I do want to reinstall it but I have two questions first.

1) Should I be connected to the internet when I reinstall? (I have roadrunner)

2) After a clean install, will there be something I have to reinstall for roadrunner?

    2) After a clean install, will there be something I have to reinstall for roadrunner?   Yes, after the installation of XP there will be nothing on your C:\ partition except the operating system.

    Hello,

Some Internet Service Providers provide software that is not required to make your internet connection run (I don't know anything about the Road Runner software, but some is just customizing your browser, email software, etc.) and on the other hand, some Internet Service Providers have software that must be installed before you can connect to the internet.  If it was me, I would format the hard drive reconnect your modem or turn it back on (however you reenable your disabled internet connection), click internet explorer and see if your internet works.  If it does great...You don't have to install the software that your ISP gave you (keep your system a little cleaner) but if it doesn't, then you should reinstall your ISP software to get your internet connection back up and running.

Thanks for your help.  Is there anything else I should be aware of before reinstalling?
