Router Help, Please.

I got my router hooked up and I put the CD/Drivers in and I cannot connect to the internet. When I try to pull up internet explorere and it says "Page Cannot Be Displayed."  What I have done so far is hook up and Ethernet Cable to the Router to the modem, and a ethernet cable to the tower to the router, but this still won't work. The Router I have  is Network Everwhere Wired DSL/Cable Router, and the Model number is NR041-WM.

It would be helpful to know which version of Windows you are running.  Have you completely reset the network after making the connections?  If not, do so now by turning off the modem, the router and all computers.  Power up the modem first, wait five minutes for the modem to synchronize with the network, then power up the router, wait another minute, and finally power up the computers.  Are you getting an IP address from the router?  It should be in the range 192.168.xxx.xxx if the router behaves like most other routers.

CHP_Strike, In the router's install instructions or help, you will find the router's address.  You must allow the router in your firewall as a new server to prevent the firewall from blocking it.  Some firewalls will do this automatically.  Try 192.168.0.0 .If the router address can not be found elsewhere, look in the firewall log of activity.  The router's address will be listed there as a blocked server.  I assume you were able to get Internet access before the router install.

    CHP_Strike,

To see what IP address you are getting from the router, go to Start > Run and type cmd then click on OK.  In the command prompt window, type ipconfig /all (note the space between the g and the /)followed by Enter.

Ok, restarting the router was a great help when I restarted it the first 3 times it didn't work but, then I tryed turning of the modem and router for 1 min and then turned the modem back on and let it configure, then turn the router back on and the stuff was working. Also on of the problems was that the router was getting the internet address as 0.0.0.0 so that was also another problem.

    Thanks Kyle
