Software installation

Can anyone help me. I have tried to install some software on my PC running XP and get the message C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32|AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS & Microsoft Windows applications. Choose close to terminate the application.
I have tried the disc in another PC running XP and it is fine. I have run the Dell Resource Cd to check the hardware and it checks out fine.
Any ideas would be welcome.

Thanks
Derek

    tabmaster,

Go to the link below, download the 16bit Fix to desktop and then run it.

Thanks for that. I've just installed it and it worked first time. I've been trying to get this done for nearly 3 weeks.
