Sony DW-Q58A Problems
Can anyone please help me. I have a Dell Inspiron B130 and my Sony DVD/RW DW-Q58A rom doe not read any Cds but is able to read and play Dvds. Does anyone know why this is occuring. My specs are:
OS: Windows XP Home Edition SP2
Processor: 1.8Ghz
When i place a cd in the rom it tries to read something and then just stops as it cannot read the information on the cd. there is no error message that appears and it behaves normal like there is no cd in the Sony rom. Please please please help me as Dell are not supportive at all.

Nah there must be something that i can do instead of replacing it. I have searched the Internet and a few people have been having the same problem so there must be a solution to it. What about updating the flash utility for the drive? Since it can read dvds i am convinced it can also read cds.341
