these probs are multiplying

my computer began to run slow 2 days ago...then i started getting this blue screen. i had that prob before so i used the same process to try and fix it again...i did a system restore. I thought everything was fixed...I then ran spybot and adaware and cleaned some stuff up...I then tryed to run McAfee but it keeps interrupting the scan and shutting down. I am also having problems with my AOL browser shutting itself down randomly now also. And i am also having probs with the monitor...it wont turn back on when i return from being idle unless i turn the tower off and turn it back on. (even if i hit the monitor power)

You have adware/spyware on your system. Are the programs you're using actually taking care of all the problems they find (by fixing, deleting, quarantining, etc.)? You're missing something somewhere. Try using another program such as Microsoft Antispyware.

As to your system not waking back up:

Make sure you don't have your system set to standby or hibernate. This is not meant for desktops and can cause any number of problems - such as not waking back up. I learned this the hard way not too long ago. To check this, click on Start/Control Panel/Performance and Maintenance/Power Options. Under the Power Schemes tab, make sure "Never" is selected in responce to turning off hard disks and for standby. Under the Hibernate tab, make sure Enable Hibernation is not checked.
